Time flies! Cleo is 3 months old!

I can't believe it, but today marked my last official day of maternity leave. I go back to work on Monday and Cleo starts daycare. I'm looking forward to going back to work, although I wish it were on a part time basis...like 3 days a week...rather than full time. Although I will be working from home on Thursdays, which will give me a couple of extra hours with her on those days.

Cleo and I visited her daycare for a couple of hours yesterday and today. I think it will be quite an adjustment for her (and me), but luckily she is young enough that it won't be too traumatic (not that she'll remember anyway). All of the staff I have met were very nice and all of the babies seem very attached to their caregivers, which is a good sign I think.

Cleo is going through lots of ups and downs lately. She had a cranky period a couple of weeks ago when my Dad was in town, but is doing better now. For the most part she is a happy baby, but when she is feeling grumpy she is loud and persistent. I have no idea where she gets that from...

Cleo turned 3 months old today! She is getting stronger and stronger. She has been able to hold her head up for some time now and prefers to be sitting up. She found her hands a couple of weeks ago and they are her main focus still. She has also discovered her feet, but can't figure out how to reach them quite yet. She grasps for things as best she can and loves to chew on anything that comes near her mouth. She is constantly trying to get both hands in there. She is a "morning baby" and is all smiles in the early part of the day. She smiles these huge grins, but no laughing yet.

She is getting mostly bottles now during the day (half breastmilk and half formula) and is still breastfeeding at night. She and I are both much happier with this arragement it seems. Although I am ready for her to be able to go more than 2 or 3 hours at night without needing to be fed.

Well, it sounds like she is waking up...gotta go!
